City of Hyderabad which is located close to the heart of India. Also
known as the City of Pearls and The Hightech City , Hyderabad is known
for its rich heritage, culture , diverse population and its exotic
I have learnt the art of cooking from my late husband Ln. Sam Potla ,who has been the source of my inspiration throughout my life. It is from Him that I have learnt to cook certain specialties from my hometown and also from the length and breadth of India and in bringing out the exotic flavors and aromas in my dishes from the secret recipe of the fresh herbs and spices that I roast and then grind together.
Hemas Kitchen was formed in the year 1992 when my husband and I decided to start a small restaurant which would give our customers the ambience and flavors of a domestic indian kitchen. What started as a small establishment grew in leaps and bounds as the word spread amongst my loyal customers who loved the dishes I made for them. It grew from a side street Indian restaurant on Oakley Ave to become the first ever Indian restaurant to feature on WTTW Channel 11 Check Please , where it was voted as 'The Best Indian Restaurant in Chicago'.
The overwhelming response and the patronage of my customers prompted me to open my second location on Lincoln Park to cater to the uptown crowd of Chicago. This only increased the love and affection people share with me and my food. The growing need and demand of my loyal customers made me move to main street Devon to our brand new location.
Every dish in my kitchen is made fresh to order and to suit you palette , I am sure you will enjoy the pungent spices , the exotic aroma and the magic of Indian cuisine which will create a feast for your senses that you will want to experience very often.
